Debatably features the biggest twist ending in the history of movies.... it certainly had me fooled! Often mistaken for being the directors' debut movie (which it wasn't), it is without argument definitely his best.

Perhaps doesn't have the impact it had on release, mainly because the director has pulled the same twist in all his films, thus demonstrating textbook examples of both the 'one trick pony' and the 'law of diminishing returns.' This film, at least, is good enough to overcome the faults. Too bad Shyamalan was blinded by its success and didn't bother to tread into more uncharted waters.
