Story of a dysfunctional family living on an estate in South London where illegal drugs, domestic violence and crime form a part of their every day lives.

Some very disturbing scenes, particularly with Winstone kicking the shit out of his pregnant missus and too much unnecessary over-use of the work fuck make this quite an uncomfortable experience. The inexperience of director Oldman where almost every shot appears to be zoomed in and hard to see, with no breathing space for backgrounds make this a difficult film to watch. However, that is my opinion, which seems to be in the minority given the high rating on sites such as IMDb.com.
