| One of the earliest Laurel & Hardy 2-reeler talkies. This one has Stan and Ollie babysitting their sons one evening, with hilarious results. The grown-ups are playing checkers, whilst the kids are playing with their building bricks, down on the floor, just before bed-time. A very interesting technique of showing the actors playing themselves and their children all on the same screen at the same time. They later repeated this with Twice Two (1933), and Our Relations (1936). A note about the title card(s): the top one is the original 1930 release and the bottom one is from a mid-1930s re-release of the film. |
