Film Dope

Men O' War

1929

Early Laurel & Hardy 2-reel talkie with them dressed as sailors who find an item of underwear in a park right next to where a couple of young ladies are standing. Realising that she has lost something, one of the women confesses to the boys of her embarrassment, which leads to a mix-up of sorts when a passing policeman also finds a missing item. The second part of the film deals with Ollie treating the new-found girls to a drink but then realising he has not enough money to pay the bill, so passes the responsibility to Stan. Finally, and after a bit of luck, they all take to a boat on the river, which turns into mayhem with the other boats there.
