Set in WWII, occupied France, 1942, a French civil engineer escapes from a POW camp to join his network at Marseilles where he takes revenge on the traitor who had him imprisoned in the first place.
Based on the novel by Joseph Kessel, this is a slow but powerful film, which surprisingly took nearly a decade to find its way across the ocean before it was released.
