| True story of adrenaline junkie/mountain climber Aron Ralston, who gets trapped whilst rock climbing in a canyon in Utah. His right arm becomes pinned to the rock by a dislodged boulder, leaving him at the mercy of the elements and his own fears for survival. After enduring the situation for five days, he resorts to desperate measures in order to free himself. For anyone who remembers watching the Oliver Stone film World Trade Center, this experience is not that dissimilar. The camera maintains for the most part, the drama unfolding at a very slow pace in order to preserve the realism of the situation. There were stories of people fainting, suffering panic attacks and walking out of theatres when the film opened in the States. |
