It's the anniversary of the day when Sid first proposed to Jean, but he has forgotten all about it. A stern reminder by the family, and a little encouragement from best mate Trevor sees Sid taking charge of the situation. He books a table at an expensive restaurant in Putney but doesn't realise that Jean is at home planning a surprise meal of her own for them. When they do eventually go out, their evening is interrupted by Sally and Mike, who both show up to add to the misery.
