Film Dope

Kate and Sawyer discover the metallic suitcase in the waters of a lagoon but then begin a dispute over the ownership of it. So she confides in Jack and proposes he get the key to open the case... only trouble is the key is now buried with the dead marshal who escorted her on the doomed plane.
Some more insight into Kate's past is shown as a flashback which brings new light into her mysterious character.
