Film Dope

One problem of Capaldi's tenure as Doctor is the habit of stories to veer from bubblegum to existential. This one is pure bubblegum, and none the worse for it.

The exotic tone is aided and abetted by being filmed in the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, Spain. Presumably Matt Lucas couldn't get a visa as he only shows up in the prologue.
