During the penultimate bout Steve Austin suffered a legitimate broken neck when his opponent Owen Hart messed up a piledriver manoeuvre on him, which subsequently forced him to retire from wrestling for a time. If you watch carefully you can see Austin say something to Owen immediately after the incident and Owen gets up and quickly says something to the referee. For all those who bang on about how fake wrestling is... this most certainly wasn't. |
