James VI of Scotland becomes James I of England and antagonizes already disillusioned Catholics who prepare a plot against the King.

Action movie paced, R-rated story of Guy Fawkes and the November the 5th plot, packed full of enticing actors. Doesn't work quite as well as the Cate Blanchett Elizabeth movies to which it aspires but good.
