
| Character actor and comedian popular for decades with movie and TV audiences, directors, and fellow actors. DeLuise appeared in scores of movies and TV shows, in Broadway plays, and as the voice of characters in numerous cartoons. He was a favorite of writer-director-actor Mel Brooks, who cast him in several films, including Blazing Saddles, Silent Movie, History of the World Part I, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights. His TV credits included appearances on such shows as The Munsters, The Girl from UNCLE, Burke’s Law, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Diagnosis: Murder. In later years DeLuise wrote two successful cookbooks. He died in Santa Monica, California on May 4, 2009. |
