Mad doctor uses his blind henchman to kidnap random women so he can use their skin in an attmept to restore the damaged beauty of his scarred daughter. Said to be Franco's take on Les yeux sans visage, it is actually more closely related to the West German Edgar Wallace-based krimis popular at this time, especially Die toten Augen von London (1961). However tawdry it's subject may be, it does boast fine moody photography and an interesting avant-garde score, and is much less a haphazard affair than many of Franco's later films. The mood is somewhat diminished by the rather awful English dubbing, though, which hides whatever nuances are in the orginal performances.
