| A vulnerable young woman is attacked in the London apartment of an artist late one night, but in her struggle she defends herself, killing the man in the process. Unfortunately she leaves behind an important clue to her identity which is later used to blackmail her. One of Hitchcock's earliest films shows what a true genius he was in creating the suspense and his use of shadows and camera angles to add drama to a situation. This film is acknowledged as being the first 'sound' movie released in the UK. |
