The Californian town of Santa Carla (Santa Cruz in real life) is terrorized by a group of teenage vampires (the Lost Boys), led by Sutherland. They lure two brothers into their mix to 'hang out' with them (literally, from a train bridge!) but when elder brother (Patric) falls in love with the girlfriend (Gertz) of lead vampire (Sutherland) then things get a bit awkward.
The 2-disc Special Edition DVD has a very informative commentary track by director Joel Schumacher.
A straight-to-video 'sequel' was released in 2008. ~ Lord

Teen Vampire offering. Patric and Haim star as two brothers who get caught up with a seductive group of vampires led by Sutherland. Comedy and horror mix didn't work for me in 87, seems to have improved with age. Definitely put Sutherland on the map. Good soundtrack. ~ The Sloth
