A child-molester who was badly burned by the parents of the kids he abused, returns years later to the street where he committed his crimes to haunt them in their sleep. Wes Craven hit the jackpot with this tale of a dream-bound boogeyman named Freddie Kruger. Genuinely creepy with a few perfecty realised nightmares. Slightly spoilt by an all too jokey ending.
Followed by numerous sequels and one remake: |
