American flier returns to North Africa at war's end in 1945 to take up his old life. His wife is soon murdered, and he goes on a mission to find out who did it.

Decent enough mystery benefits from location filming in Algiers, Tangier and Morocco. Carey tends to go into jaw clenching Chuck Heston mode a bit too often, and Newley is absolutely awful trying to play a Spaniard, but instead sounding like a bad Ricky Ricardo imitation. On the other hand, Deckers is superb as the police chief (probably his biggest role), and Angeli is lovely and charming.

Note: The US print is lacking end credits, so impossible to tell who is and isn't credited. After Du Monceau, actors are listed in order of appearance. Also, Shaw's character is listed as 'Grila,' but I am certain it is Gorilla, pronounced in a Cockney accent as 'G'rilla' by Hayter.
