Man vacationing in southern France is knocked out by a hitch hiker and wakes up with amnesia. A local wealthy clan claims he is their prodigal son returned, but there are baser and more sinister motives at work.

Neat little B-movie with a nasty climax. Barker holds his own as the amnesiac trying to make sense of things, and Gastoni is her usual underrated self. The US version is shorn of 13 minutes, so the pace is a bit choppy. The only casualty among the cast appears to be Maxted, whose nasty Mr. Moffatt, much hyped in dialogue, but reduced to a nasty wordless cameo.
