| When the fearsome Green Knight invades court only squire Gawain is man enough (stupid enough?) to accept his challenge. This director's second attempt to put this tale on film. Connery appears to be having a blast, but O'Keeffe is somewhat wanting in the acting department despite being dubbed by Peter Firth and the whole comes over somewhat cheesy. Good cast though. See also Gawain and the Green Knight BBFC site reveals the film was cut by 9 seconds for a UK PG rating (my guess is The Green Knight's decapitation is a little less graphic) |
