While an improvement on 2 & 3, we're still a long way from the joys of the first installment. Making Blackbeard more evil would have helped. The tepid romantic business could have been skipped and this is the least interesting 3-D mine eyes have beheld.

On the plus side, Depp, Rush, McNally - always good value - and the mermaids are cute.
