Season 22, Episode 2 Grampa decides to hand over his life savings to the family (meaning everybody gets $50 each). Marge buys an expensive handbag; Bart pays a guy to walk the wrong way up a moving escalator, and Lisa donates her share to help Nelson get his bicycle repair business off the ground. It's clear from this that the show has completely lost its magic. Everything about the show which made it popular is gone. The animation has improved (some would say) but it now looks too smooth, the pace of the episodes have slowed right down, and the witty scripts of yesteryear are a distant memory. My advice to the producers is simple: retire the show now before it becomes a complete embarrassment. It's just not funny anymore. *Read a more detailed summary for this episode on Wiki Simpsons |
