After seeing an advert on tv, Maggie sets her heart on getting a missing elf doll toy to complete her collection. Marge revisits her childhood home, whilst Lisa tries to discover why her mother was a top class student in her youth.
Wow, what a turnaround this series has taken: it's gone from really crap to really great. The best scene involves Homer trying to acquire the toy for Maggie by continually finding new ways to pay for - then dispose of $10 worth of gas at a time - exactly what the show has been lacking - this kind of slapstick mayhem humour; so glad it's back.
