Eastwood returns as Philo Beddoe, the bare-knuckle fighter who is forced to fight one more time when his girlfriend (Locke) is kidnapped by goons. There is a rather touching scene towards the end when the 'Black Widows' motorcycle gang make their peace with Beddoe, which to me, steals the movie.
The opening song heard over the credits is sung by Clint Eastwood and Ray Charles. ~ The Lord Clint decided to prove that he could do dumb comedy action movies just like Burt Reynolds and succeeded admirably with this tale of fist fighter Philo Beddoe and the Orangutan, Clyde, who steals the whole movie. That 18 rating seems a tad harsh. ~ The Sloth Preceeded by: Every Which Way But Loose (1978). |
